Cornelia Thurza "Flyrod "Crosby was born in Phillips in 1854. Flyrod was the first woman Maine Guide and a major influence on marketing the sport of fly fishing in the Rangeley Lakes area. The Museum has several Flyrod memorabilia and documents.
Beautiful handmade quilts and throws from the 1800's and early 1900's have been gifted to the museum. Several quilts are "Friendship quilts" that have the embroidered names of families from the Phillips, Avon, Strong and Madrid communities.
